2,500 Criminals Identified Through FRS at Jantar Mantar, 15 FIRs Registered

New Delhi: Delhi Police has identified more than 2,500 individuals with criminal records using the Facial Recognition System (FRS) deployed at Jantar Mantar during the ongoing protests. Officials said 15 FIRs have also been registered in connection with various incidents reported at the protest site.

The police said the Facial Recognition System was used as part of enhanced security arrangements to monitor the gathering and identify individuals with previous criminal antecedents. According to officials, those identified through the system are being verified and appropriate legal action will be taken wherever required.

FRS helps identify over 2,500 people with criminal records

According to Delhi Police, the Facial Recognition System matched more than 2,500 people with existing criminal records from the police database. Authorities said the technology was deployed to strengthen security, prevent law and order issues and identify habitual offenders present at the protest venue.

Officials added that the verification process is underway and legal action will be initiated against those found involved in any unlawful activities.

15 FIRs registered during the protest

Police said 15 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered in connection with incidents reported during the ongoing protests. The cases relate to alleged violations of law and order, and investigations are currently underway.

Authorities also stated that adequate security personnel remain deployed in and around Jantar Mantar to maintain peace and ensure public safety.

Security remains tight in central Delhi

Security has been heightened across central Delhi, with surveillance systems and additional police deployment in place around sensitive locations. Officials said they are closely monitoring the situation and urged people to cooperate with security measures while maintaining public order.

The police reiterated that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the protests remain peaceful and that anyone found violating the law will face action in accordance with legal provisions.
