UP Wedding Party Bus Crash: 3 Dead, 15 Injured in Collision

A tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district early Sunday left three people dead and 15 injured when a private bus carrying a wedding party collided head-on with a state-run roadway’s bus on the Bareilly-Mathura highway near Jarolia village around 5 am, police said.

Victims Identified

The three victims identified as Sonu (22), Krishna Kumar (14) and Yogesh (38) died at the scene, police officials added. Locals and passersby alerted the authorities immediately after the collision, triggering a rescue response.

Injured Rushed to Hospital

Of the 15 injured, several were in serious condition and were taken to Budaun Government Medical College for treatment. Police said five critical cases were referred to higher medical centres in Bareilly and Saifai for specialised care.

Traffic Disrupted, Wreckage Cleared

The impact severely damaged both vehicles, causing a traffic snarl along the busy highway. Police later used cranes to clear the wreckage and restore normal traffic flow.

Official Condolences and Probe Launched

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families. He directed district officials to ensure prompt medical assistance and support relief efforts. An investigation into the cause of the collision has been launched.
