Bhopal: Three individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents, with two others sustaining injuries. The first incident took place on Friday afternoon on National Highway 44 in the Kurai police station area of Seoni district, where a speeding truck collided with a parked taxi. The force of the crash propelled the taxi into a roadside guard wall along the four-lane highway.

Two passengers, Santkumar Hardiya (55) and Ramkishore Barmaiya (50), died at the scene and later at the hospital, respectively. Eight other people were injured, with one woman critically ill and transferred to Nagpur for specialized treatment. The injured are being treated at the Chhapara Community Health Centre. The truck involved has been seized, and its driver, Ajit Yadav, has been taken into custody. Police confirmed that all passengers were traveling from Chhindwara Chowk in Seoni toward Khawasa, which initially complicated the process of identifying the deceased. An investigation is ongoing, and a case has been registered.

Later the same day, in Chhatarpur district, a bus traveling from Chhatarpur to Damoh overturned in the Sathiya Valley near Hirapur after the driver reportedly lost control. Thirty-year-old Damodar Singh Lodhi from Batiagarh died in the accident, and more than a dozen passengers were injured. One victim, Rama (45) of Damoh, suffered a traumatic amputation. Rescue efforts were swiftly carried out by the Hirapur police outpost, with the injured brought to Shahgarh Community Health Centre. Many of them were subsequently referred to the District Hospital in Sagar for further treatment. These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of frequent high-impact collisions on the highways of Madhya Pradesh.
