Lucknow, July 19: In Lucknow, a 4-year-old girl was raped by the school van driver. The girl reached home crying. When her mother asked, the innocent girl said that while returning from school, the uncle in the van did dirty things to her. The family immediately complained to the school, but no one listened to them. The incident happened on 14th July.
After the incident, the accused driver threatened to kill the mother and daughter. After this, the mother filed an application in the police station on July 17. The police got the girl medically examined. The report confirmed rape.
On July 18, the police arrested the accused van driver Mohammad Arif. An FIR was also filed against Kidzee school manager Sandeep Kumar for not getting the driver verified.
Mother said- the girl’s private part was injured
The girl studies in a private school in Indiranagar. The family is a Dalit. The mother told in the FIR that after returning from school on July 14, the daughter looked very upset and sad.
After asking a lot, the daughter pointed towards her private part and said – I am having a lot of pain. When I saw, her private part was injured. After this, I immediately took her to a private doctor. Got her treated.
When I asked my daughter, she told me that the school van driver uncle had done something dirty. I was very upset. When I went to the school to complain about this, I found the accused van driver there.
When I complained to him, Arif abused me using casteist slurs and threatened to kill me. He said- If you complain, I will make you and your daughter disappear.
The school manager tried to hush up the issue
When the victim’s family told the entire incident to the manager of Kidzee School, Sandeep Kumar, he too did not take any action against the driver. Not only this, he repeatedly tried to suppress the matter. He did not help the victim’s family.
Police sent the accused to jail, FIR also lodged against school manager
DCP East Zone Shashank Singh said- On July 18, accused Mohammad Arif (25) was arrested near Kalyan Apartment. He is a resident of Indira Nagar. A case has been registered against him under rape, POCSO Act and SC, ST Act.
Negligence of the school management was found due to the absence of a female attendant in the van and not getting the driver verified. Due to this, a case has also been registered against the manager Sandeep Kumar. The CCTV of the school is being examined. The role of the school manager is being investigated.
