Rain alert in 4 districts of Punjab: 9% less rain in July; average temperature increased by 2 degrees

Amritsar, July 20: A yellow alert has been issued today regarding rain in Punjab. Monsoon has been seen to be decreasing in the state since the beginning of July. In the last 24 hours, sporadic rain was seen in the state. After which an increase of 2 degrees has been recorded in the maximum average temperature of the state.

The temperature of Punjab has reached close to normal. The highest temperature of the state was recorded in Ludhiana, which was 35.8 degrees. Apart from this, Amritsar’s temperature saw an increase of 2.6 degrees, after which the temperature was recorded at 34.8 degrees. Apart from this, the temperature was recorded at 34.5 degrees in Patiala, 35.5 degrees in Pathankot, 34.4 degrees in Bathinda, 34 degrees in Faridkot and 35 degrees in Gurdaspur.

Meanwhile, till 5.30 pm on Saturday, 1 mm of rainfall was recorded in Ferozepur, while the rest of Punjab remained dry.

Weather is changing from tomorrow, chances of rain till 24th

After the Western Disturbance became active, there are chances of rain again in Punjab. An alert has been issued regarding rain in Himachal Pradesh today. Its effect will be seen in Punjab as well. A yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in the districts adjoining Himachal Pradesh, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Rupnagar.

While the temperature is expected to remain normal in other districts, an orange alert has been issued for rain in the entire state on July 21.

While there was surplus rainfall in the month of June, the rainfall in the month of July is less than normal. According to the data released from July 1 to July 19, 87.3 mm rainfall has been recorded in the state, whereas during these days the state receives 95.9 mm rainfall, which is 9 percent less than normal.

But it is expected that the state will see good rains in the coming days. Apart from this, if we talk about the data from 1 June to 19 July, the state has received 157 mm of rain, which is 4 percent more than normal.
