Mumbai, July 20: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked in his house on January 15. In this case, the police arrested Shariful Islam. Shariful is a Bangladeshi, who is still lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Now after 5 months, Shariful has sought bail. Shariful says that he has been accused on the basis of a fictional story.
The accused in the case, Shariful Islam, filed a bail plea on Friday. The bail plea will be heard on July 23. Shariful Islam’s lawyer Vipul Dushing has written in the plea that Shariful has no criminal record. The investigation of the incident is almost complete, now only filing of the charge sheet is left. The CCTV footage, call records and necessary evidence are already with the prosecution. There is no danger of tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses now.
The lawyer says that the current FIR contains nothing but the imaginary story of the complainant. This is why Shariful Islam should now be granted bail.
The petition also said that Section 47 of the BNSS (Indian Civil Security Code) has been violated in this case, under which the arrested person is informed about the reasons for his arrest and his rights to bail.
Saif Ali Khan was attacked on January 15
On the night of January 15, Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife by someone who entered his house. The incident took place at around 2.30 am on the 12th floor of Guru Sharan Apartment in Khar, Mumbai.
The house maid told the police that late at night she suddenly saw a shadow near the bathroom and she thought that Kareena might have come to see her younger son, but later she got suspicious and went ahead. Suddenly a man attacked the woman and showed her a sharp weapon and asked her to keep quiet.
Meanwhile, the second maid also arrived. During this, the attacker demanded Rs 1 crore from the maid (nanny) who was taking care of the children. During this, Saif Ali Khan also reached there and when he saw, a scuffle broke out between the unknown accused and Saif.
In her statement, the maid said that at the time of the attack, there were 3 female and 3 male servants in the house. After the attack, Ibrahim and Sara Ali Khan also live on the eighth floor of the same building. They came up and took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital in an auto. There was no driver at home. No one knew how to drive an automatic electric vehicle, so they reached Lilavati Hospital by auto. During treatment, a piece of knife was found in his back. He was treated for 5 days.
