How to make Mango Halwa

Making mango halwa is a delightful way to enjoy the sweetness of ripe mangoes in a traditional Indian dessert. Here's a simple recipe to make mango halwa

Ingredients: – Ripe mangoes: 2 large or 3 medium-sized (choose sweet and ripe mangoes for best flavor) – Semolina (sooji or rava): 1 cup – Sugar: 1 cup (adjust to taste based on the sweetness of mangoes) – Ghee (clarified butter): 1/2 cup – Milk: 1 cup – Cardamom powder: 1/2 teaspoon – Saffron strands: a few (optional, for added flavor and color) – Nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios): chopped, for garnish – Raisins: a handful (optional)

Prepare the Mango Pulp

Peel and chop the ripe mangoes. Blend them into a smooth puree

Roast Semolina

Add 2 tablespoons of ghee and roast the semolina (sooji) until it turns golden brown and fragrant.

Make Halwa

– In the same pan, add the remaining ghee and heat it over medium-low heat. – Add the mango puree and stir well. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add Milk and Sugar

– Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly to combine well with the semolina and mango mixture. – Add the sugar and continue to stir.

Flavor and Garnish

Add cardamom powder and saffron strands (if using). Stir well

Cook Until Thickened

Keep stirring the halwa over low heat until it thickens to your desired consistency.
