Aam Aadmi Clinics: The People’s Own Hospitals Transforming Punjab’s Healthcare

Punjab Desk: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Clinic initiative has sparked a people-centric revolution in Punjab’s healthcare system. These clinics have now become a symbol of trust, relief, and accessible medical care for the masses.

As of October 2025, a total of 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics are operational across the state  530 in rural areas and 312 in urban regions. So far, these clinics have treated over 2.20 crore people, while more than 80 lakh diagnostic tests have been provided free of cost. This initiative has collectively saved the public nearly ₹1,050 crore in medical expenses.

Each clinic offers 107 essential medicines and 47 different diagnostic tests, all completely free. On average, 70–80 patients visit every clinic daily. The facilities have now expanded to include special services for pregnant women and anti-rabies injections. To ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines, the government has empowered CMOs and SMOs to procure supplies locally whenever needed.

Chief Minister Mann stated that under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Bima Yojna, efforts are underway to ensure cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every family. Today, these clinics are not just healthcare centers they represent a new vision where treatment, medicines, and dignity are guaranteed for all, without any cost.
