New Delhi: Despite several movements in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy have managed to retain their top positions in the batting and bowling charts, respectively.
Chakravarthy, though wicketless in the recent Asia Cup Super Fours clash against Pakistan, bowled a tight spell of 0-25. His economical performance not only kept the scoring in check but also earned him a 14-point rating boost, further strengthening his hold at the top.
Hardik Pandya Leads the All-Rounders’ Rankings
India’s seam-bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya has climbed six places to reach 60th in the bowlers’ rankings. More importantly, he continues to occupy the top spot among all-rounders in the T20I format, underlining his consistency and impact.
Abhishek, Tilak Varma Shine with the Bat
Abhishek’s batting form has been crucial to India’s campaign. After scoring a brisk 38 against Oman in the group stage, he followed it up with a match-winning 74 in India’s successful chase of Pakistan’s 171 on Sunday, helping him maintain his No. 1 ranking.
Meanwhile, his teammate Tilak Varma has broken into the top three. His unbeaten 30 off 19 balls against Pakistan played a vital role in sealing India’s win and pushed him up a spot to No. 3 in the batting rankings.
Abrar Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman Among Bowling Gainers
Pakistan’s leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has stormed into the top five, climbing 12 places to reach No. 4 with 703 points. His stingy spell of 1-8 against Sri Lanka played a key role in Pakistan’s comeback, adding to earlier figures of 2-13 against the UAE.
Bangladesh’s experienced left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman also re-entered the top 10 after moving up six spots, thanks to a strong run of six wickets at an average of eight across his last two matches. Pakistan’s Haris Rauf has also made gains, surging nine spots to 28th.
New Faces in Batting Rankings
Several batters have enjoyed significant boosts:
