Bodies of 7 people found as Surat 6-storey building collapse yesterday, NDRF in rescue

Surat: On Saturday afternoon, a 6-storey building collapsed in Sachin Industrial Area of ​​Surat city. The rescue team has found the bodies of 7 people by Sunday morning. While a woman is seriously injured. The rescue operation of the NDRF team is ongoing. The work of removing the debris is still going on.

The names of those who lost their lives in the accident are Hiraman Kewat, Abhishek Kewat, Shivpujan Kewat, Sahil, Pravesh, Brijesh Gond. The seventh has not been identified yet. Kashish Sharma, injured in the accident, has been admitted to the hospital.

This building was built only in 2017. The quality of its construction can be easily guessed by the collapse of the entire building in just 7 years.


The first body was taken out at 9.10 pm on Saturday night. After this, the second body was taken out at 11.50, the third at 4, the fourth at 4.30 and three bodies were taken out together at 4.45. The work of removing the debris of the building is still going on. It is feared that 2-3 more people may be buried under the debris.

Only two floors of the entire building were occupied. People lived only on the first and second floors. People lived in two rooms below and 6 rooms above them. The rest of the floors were empty. At least 5 people lived in each room. In this way, 20 to 25 people lived on both floors.
