Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi hits turbulence, several passengers injured

Since last year, we’ve been hearing and reading news of Air India plane accidents at regular intervals. The trauma of the tragic Ahmedabad accident remains unforgettable for years. Just Tuesday, an Air India plane was caught in turbulence, putting the lives of its passengers at risk. Air India flight AI-2379 was returning to New Delhi from Phuket, Thailand. During the flight, it was caught in severe turbulence. Trapped in severe wind fluctuations, the plane plunged nearly 300 feet. While the weather is often to blame for such accidents, it’s simply the passengers’ misfortune that they suffered such a tragic tragedy.

There were 137 passengers and 8 crew members on board. Seventeen people, including 13 passengers and four cabin crew members, were seriously injured in the accident. One crew member sustained serious injuries. The injured had to be taken for treatment. Passengers were thrown from their seats and hit the roof and cabin.

The plane’s position suddenly changed as it entered the turbulence. However, the plane somehow recovered and landed in New Delhi. The flight data recorder and voice data recorder will now be examined. The plane has been moved to a hangar. Such accidents are rare. One passenger who gave an eyewitness account said, “My father was sitting next to me in an aisle seat and was not wearing a seat belt. He hit the roof and fell.” A mother and daughter were thrown from their seats during the turbulence. Those who survived considered it a rebirth. Another passenger reported that the accident occurred about an hour after takeoff. One passenger’s eardrum was ruptured.

Experts say that whether informed or not, accidents can be avoided if passengers wear their seat belts on the plane. Passengers typically unbuckle their seat belts and stretch out on their seats, but if such an accident occurs, they are the first to be injured. If a passenger is not seated for some reason, such as going to the bathroom, and the plane suddenly takes a dive, sitting in the nearest seat and fastening their seat belt can prevent injury. Whatever the case, accidents certainly diminish the reliability of air services. Operators need to pay attention to this
