Two and a half years after the attack on Ajnala police station in Punjab, the hearing of the case will now be held in the District Court of Amritsar. The case has now been shifted from Ajnala Court to Amritsar. After which on Thursday, a total of 39 accused, including all 9 associates of Amritpal Singh were ordered to appear in the court.
This hearing is going on under FIR number 39/2023 registered at Ajnala police station. According to the information received, the accused will be produced in court regarding the charge framing in the case. The judge has ordered all the accused to be physically produced in court.
Giving information, Advocate Ritu Raj said that a total of 39 named persons will be produced in the court today.
Amritpal had attacked the police station along with his associates
Ajnala police station was attacked by ‘Waris Punjab De’ Jathedar Amritpal Singh along with his supporters on 23 February 2025. FIR number 39 is registered in this case. In this case, the police arrested Amritpal Singh and sent him to Dibrugarh jail under NSA.
For two years, Amritpal was in Dibrugarh with 9 companions, but three months ago, the NSA was removed from his 9 companions and he was brought to Punjab. Amritpal Singh’s NSA was extended for the third time.
Amritpal had reached for his companion Toofan
Thousands of supporters of Jathedar Amritpal of ‘Waris Punjab De’ attacked Ajnala police station. The attackers had brought swords and guns with them. They also had the holy beed of Shri Guru Granth Sahib. In such a situation, the soldiers retreated. In a statement given to the TV channel, the police gave this reason for not taking action.
Amritpal Singh was opposing the registration of a case against his supporter, Lovepreet Toofan. He had announced a protest. For several hours, Ajnala police station remained in the possession of Amritpal Singh and his companions. Finally, the police decided to release Lovepreet Toofan.
