In 1995, Mahipal Singh Rajwar, then a young father, left his Almora village in search of work and never returned. For 30 long years, his wife Meena Devi raised their daughter alone and endured social pressures without any news of her husband’s whereabouts.

The breakthrough came after a Kumaoni folk song video said locally to be “O Ghughuti” went viral on social media. A relative reportedly recognized Mahipal singing the familiar tune in the video, which ultimately led to his identification and the joyous reunion with his family.
