Chandigarh: Even before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to flood-affected areas on September 9, the politics of Punjab has heated up. Today, Punjab Aam Aadmi Party chief Aman Arora held a press conference and demanded that this visit should not remain only disaster tourism. He appealed to the Prime Minister to stand with Punjab and release a relief package of Rs 20 thousand crores. Along with this, the outstanding amount of Rs 60 thousand crores should also be given to Punjab.

Aman Arora said that full arrangements have been made for the security of the Prime Minister. He alleged that the then Congress government was responsible for the earlier lapse and called it their incompetence. Arora further said that before this Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had come.

Instead, he went to Delhi and gave such a statement about the flood that it was like rubbing salt on the wounds of Punjabis. He raised the question that if the flood in Punjab is due to illegal mining, then what will we call the flood in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir? At the same time, even the water that has come to Delhi is not being handled properly.
Tight security arrangements for PM’s security
In response to a question, Arora said that the responsibility of the Prime Minister’s security lies with the state government and we have fulfilled it completely. He reminded that last time there was a security lapse due to the negligence of the Congress government and the election atmosphere. At the same time, he has questioned the local leadership of Punjab BJP.
