Mumbai, Maharashtra: Actor Vivan Bhathena recently shared his experience of filming intense wrestling scenes with Aamir Khan in the blockbuster film Dangal. In the movie, Aamir Khan portrayed the real-life character of wrestling coach Mahavir Singh Phogat.
Speaking to IANS, Vivan recalled the physical challenges involved in shooting the wrestling sequences. He explained that the floor used for the scenes was specially designed, with only a thin mat laid over it, making the impact extremely hard on the body. “Falling on the floor was very impactful, especially on our backs, and injuries were common,” he said.
Vivan added that they strictly followed the advice of their trainers during the shoot. “The trainer told me that I had to hold on tightly to Aamir during the scene.
Both our bodies would absorb the shock, so it was important to do it correctly,” he explained. He mentioned that despite the physical strain, both he and Aamir performed the scenes very well.

Vivan also praised his co-stars, stating that everyone on the set of Dangal was very supportive and pleasant to work with.
He especially appreciated director Nitesh Tiwari for his vision and dedication, crediting him for bringing authenticity and depth to the film.
