Amritsar: Amritsar Rural Police have dismantled an alleged illegal arms and narcotics supply network with the arrest of three accused and recovery of 10 kg heroin, two AK rifles, four magazines and 10 live cartridges.
Accused Allegedly Linked To Foreign-Based Smugglers
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested accused were allegedly linked to foreign-based smugglers and were procuring illegal weapons and narcotics for further supply in Punjab, police said.
Probe Underway To Trace Network Links
An FIR has been registered at Gharinda Police Station in Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to uncover the complete backward and forward linkages and identify other persons allegedly involved in the network.
The police said the action is part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking and illegal arms networks in Punjab.
