Jaipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anuradha Singh is set to become the unopposed Mayor of Bharatpur Municipal Corporation after independent candidate Vichitra Singh withdrew her nomination in the presence of BJP government minister Jawahar Singh Bedham.
With Vichitra Singh’s withdrawal, Anuradha Singh remains the sole candidate for the mayoral post, paving the way for her unopposed election.
BJP Hails Support in Bharatpur
Following the developments in Bhilwara, BJP State President Madan Rathore extended his best wishes to Anuradha Singh and said public faith and trust in the BJP continue to strengthen.
Rathore said the BJP has secured unopposed mayoral and chairperson positions in approximately 18 civic bodies.
He also said independent councillors in Bharatpur had decided to join the BJP, citing the development of the region and expressing confidence in the party’s ideology and the public-welfare policies of the Bhajanlal Sharma government.
BJP Says Independent Councillors Back Development
Rathore said the alignment of independent candidates and councillors with the BJP indicated their desire to work alongside the state government for regional development.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is working with a focus on public welfare and development, he said.
Rathore further stated that the support received by the BJP in Bharatpur would provide fresh momentum to the region’s development.
He said the BJP remains committed to working in the public interest with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all).
BJP Candidates Emerge Unopposed in Several Civic Bodies
Rathore added that not only in Bharatpur but also in several other places, BJP candidates are emerging as unopposed mayors and chairpersons.
He said that in some places opposition candidates did not file nominations, while in others independent candidates withdrew their nominations and extended their support to the BJP.
