Hansi: Indian Army soldier Rambir, a resident of Bas Akbarpur village in Haryana’s Hansi district, has passed away after a prolonged illness. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at RR Hospital in Delhi. His body arrived in the village on Friday. Rambir, son of the late Kaliram Jat, served in the Indian Army’s Ordnance Corps. He was posted at the Army Supply Depot in Delhi.
He joined the Army as a clerk in 2009 and had been serving the country for many years. Rambir had been unwell for some time. When his health deteriorated, he was admitted to RR Hospital in Delhi, where he passed away late Thursday night.
Rambir is survived by his wife, Monica, and two daughters, Bhavana (8 years old) and Kirti (5 years old). His father, Kaliram, has already passed away. His elder brother works as a farmer. As soon as Rambir’s body arrived in Bas Akbarpur village on Friday, a large number of villagers, relatives, and local dignitaries gathered to pay their last respects. An atmosphere of mourning prevailed throughout the village.
Army gives final salute
According to family members, Rambir’s last rites were performed with full state honors in Bas Akbarpur village. A guard of honor led by Subedar Narayan Singh from Hisar Cantonment performed the last salute. Narnaund’s Deputy Tehsildar Narendra Kumar, Bas Police Station Manager Pavitra Kumar, and a large number of villagers, including the Sarpanchs of the surrounding villages, were present.
Villagers described Rambir as a dedicated soldier.
