A shocking robbery incident has come to light from Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, where a young woman disguised in a burqa looted a jewellery shop in broad daylight. The accused fled with a gold necklace worth approximately ₹3.6 lakh, leaving shopkeepers stunned and raising serious concerns over local security arrangements.
The incident took place in the Rudauli area, where the accused entered the shop posing as a regular customer before executing the crime in a swift and calculated manner.
Accused used toy pistol to threaten staff
According to reports, the woman initially behaved like a genuine customer, observing jewellery items for a few minutes. Suddenly, she brandished what appeared to be a pistol later suspected to be a toy gun and threatened the shop staff.
Under fear, the shopkeepers could not react immediately, allowing the accused to grab a gold necklace and escape. The entire act was carried out within moments, demonstrating a planned and bold approach.
Escaped with boyfriend on bike
After committing the robbery, the woman ran out of the shop and fled on a motorcycle with her accomplice, believed to be her boyfriend. CCTV footage from nearby cameras captured the sequence, which is now being used by police to identify and track the suspects.
The visuals clearly show the accused escaping quickly, indicating prior planning and coordination between the two.
Identity revelation adds twist to case
In a significant development, police investigations revealed that the woman, despite wearing a burqa during the robbery, is reportedly from a Hindu background.
