Kapurthala, Aug 31: Due to heavy rains in Kapurthala, Punjab, the water level of the Beas river has risen. The water level has reached the danger zone. The district administration has instructed people to immediately move to safer places.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal said that the water level in the Beas river has reached 2.35 lakh cusecs. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Kapurthala district. The water level of the river is rising due to continuous rain since Saturday night.
The administration has advised people living in low-lying areas to move to safer places. Army and NDRF teams are engaged in taking people to safer places.
