Bengaluru: A horrific incident has come to light in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A cab driver allegedly murdered his wife and six members of her family. According to police, the accused was upset by domestic disputes with his wife. He was also upset that her mother and brother always supported him during fights.
The accused has been identified as Indushekhar. He married Sunita nearly 20 years ago, and they lived in the Rajajinagar area of Bengaluru. According to police, the couple’s relationship had been strained for several years. Family members repeatedly tried to reconcile them, but the disputes continued.
Police suspect that this anger drove the accused to plot to eliminate those he perceived as interfering in his life.
According to preliminary investigations, the accused first murdered his wife, Sunita. Police say he allegedly hit Sunita on the head with a grinder stone, killing her. He then took the body to Nandi Hills and disposed of it.
To avoid suspicion, the accused told neighbors that his wife had gone out with friends and had switched off her mobile phone.
Murdered in-laws after calling them home
According to police, the next day the accused called his two brothers-in-law, Shivkumar and Shankar, to his house on the pretext of a drinking party and allegedly murdered them.
According to investigators, he then killed their wives, Nalini and Divya, his mother-in-law, Rupavati, and Shankar’s 7-year-old son, Puneet.
Police suspect that the accused called family members to the house one by one and murdered them. He then disposed of the bodies in various locations to destroy evidence.
After the murders, the accused allegedly cleaned up any blood stains in the house. Furthermore, the grinder stone used in the crime was also washed with chemicals. During the investigation, police seized this stone and the car suspected of being used to transport the bodies.
Body of 7-Year-Old Child Recovered from Nandi Hills
As the investigation intensified, police accompanied the accused to Nandi Hills and conducted a search operation. After several hours of searching, the body of 7-year-old Puneet was recovered. Police are searching for the other bodies.
This mass murder came to light when Nalini’s mother approached the police and filed a missing person report.
During the investigation into the disappearances, police became suspicious of Indushekhar. According to officials, contradictions in his statements and clues discovered during the house search strengthened their suspicions. During sustained interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the murders.
According to investigators, the accused claimed he had been suffering from long-standing domestic disputes and mental stress. Police are also investigating whether anyone else assisted him in carrying out the murders. The possible role of his daughter is also being investigated.
Minister Priyank Kharge Calls Incident Unfortunate
Meanwhile, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Friday described the murder of seven family members as extremely unfortunate.
Speaking to reporters, he said the incident was extremely unfortunate and appeared to be pre-planned within the family. The accused had murdered seven of his wife’s relatives.
He further stated that the investigation into the case is ongoing. The accused claims he was humiliated by his wife’s family. Kharge stated that this is clearly the work of a person with a distorted mentality. The accused has provided information about the whereabouts of the bodies in various parts of the state.
