Bhiwadi Copper Coil Theft: Two Arrested in ₹1.5 Crore Case

Bhiwadi: Police have arrested two men in connection with the theft of copper coils worth around ₹1.50 crore from a private company’s warehouse in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. Investigators allege that the accused worked with a security guard who drugged a worker and a gunman before the stolen material was taken away.

The arrests were made by a police team led by Bhiwadi Station House Officer Sachin Sharma. The case was registered at Bhiwadi Police Station after warehouse in-charge Mahesh Chandra Sharma filed a complaint.

Worker and Gunman Allegedly Drugged Before Theft

According to the complaint, security guard Ramnarayan, gunman Mukesh Kumar and worker Balmukund were on duty at the warehouse on the night of June 9. Police said the guard allegedly mixed a drug into a cold drink and gave it to the worker and the gunman, causing them to lose consciousness.

During this time, unidentified outsiders allegedly entered the premises with the guard’s help. They damaged the warehouse’s CCTV cameras, loaded two copper coils into a vehicle and fled.

Police Trace Accused to Uttar Pradesh

During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage from nearby areas, gathered information from informants and took help from the cyber team. They also questioned suspects arrested in other theft cases.

The investigation led to the arrest of Shahid, son of Salim, and Salman, son of Ishayak. Both men are residents of the Risaldaran area under Sikandrabad police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district.

Police said the stolen copper coils were sold to an unidentified scrap dealer in Noida. The accused allegedly spent the money on luxury items and drugs.

Accused Suspected of Similar Thefts

According to police, the two men are habitual offenders who allegedly targeted company security guards and workers with drug addictions to carry out copper thefts. Several criminal cases have previously been registered against both, police said.

Further investigation is underway to recover the stolen property and establish the full extent of the alleged conspiracy.
