MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal Slams Punjab Govt, Calls It ‘Drama’ Over Failed Promises & Rising Crime

Amritsar: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader, former Union Minister, and current Member of Parliament, Bibi Harsimrat Kaur Badal, has launched a verbal attack on the Aam Aadmi Party government. Speaking to the media after paying obeisance at the Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, she questioned the government’s policies and working style.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that there is no government in Punjab, but only drama. She said that the promise of giving ₹1,000 to women before the 2022 elections was merely a data collection tool, but four years later, no one has received the money. She alleged that the Punjab government is misleading the public with new promises.

Health System Under Criticism

She also targeted the state’s health system, saying that the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme and Mohalla Clinics are mere gimmicks. Doctors from government hospitals have been reassigned to places where there are neither medicines nor proper treatment. As a result, the entire health system has collapsed.

Law and Order Situation Worsens

Regarding law and order, he said that gangsters rule Punjab. Murders, robberies, and extortions are increasing daily. Instead of apprehending the real criminals, the government is throwing innocent youth into jail. He dismissed initiatives like Operation Prahar as mere newspaper advertisements, saying that despite spending crores of rupees, no major gangsters have been apprehended.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal asked the Chief Minister bluntly, “If gangsters are being caught, why aren’t daylight murders stopping in Punjab?” She said this government has failed on the ground and excels only in publicity.
