Bengaluru, Dec 24, 2025: The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hailed the recent town panchayat election results as an indication that the party is staging a return to power in the state, party leaders said Wednesday. The local body polls, held in several districts, saw BJP candidates emerge victorious in multiple town panchayat seats.
The results include wins for the BJP in Dakshina Kannada district’s Bajpai and Kinni Goli town panchayats, and in Manki town panchayat in Uttara Kannada district. The party also secured a victory in a by-election for Ward No. 4 of Turvihal Town Panchayat in Raichur district.

State BJP leaders, including party general secretary BY Vijayendra, said that the “unprecedented victory” at the grassroots reflects popular sentiment in favor of development-oriented governance and is a reaction against what they described as the failures of the current ruling government’s policies in Karnataka.
The party also pointed to its win in the Doddaballapur City Municipal Council election, where the BJP candidate emerged victorious, as further evidence of growing support.
