There is a conspiracy to terrorize Punjab before 15 August. Terrorist groups are planning bomb blasts in Punjab. At the same time, such nefarious conspiracies are being foiled due to the prompt and swift action of the Punjab Police. Punjab’s Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) foiled a major terrorist conspiracy hatched with the help of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

During a joint operation of AGTF and Tarn Taran Police, the nefarious conspiracy hatched by BKI terrorists Harvinder Singh Rinda and Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, sitting in Pakistan was exposed. Based on intelligence information, a search operation was conducted, and the police recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) from Tarn Taran district. Investigation has revealed that this IED was to be delivered to terrorist Rinda’s associates.
The recovered IED was carefully taken to a safe place, where it was defused in a controlled manner. To defuse the IED, the Bomb Disposal Squad (EOD) was called to the spot, who successfully defused the explosive with the help of AGFT and local police.
In this case, an FIR has been registered under the Explosives Act at Sirhali police station in Tarn Taran. The police is now engaged in investigating the links of the entire network. According to sources, arrests may be made soon in this case.
