A Bengaluru-based logistics tech company BlackBuck has announced that it will be moving out of its Bellandur office located on the city’s Outer Ring Road (ORR). The decision, according to Co-founder and CEO Rajesh Yabaji, was driven by the poor road conditions and crippling traffic congestion for which the ORR is infamous.
CEO’s Criticism of Infrastructure
In a social media post, Yabaji wrote, “Roads full of potholes and dust, coupled with the lowest intent to get them rectified,” adding that he sees no improvement “for at least five years.”
His remarks quickly gained traction online, with many using the development to criticise Bengaluru’s civic infrastructure and recurring mobility challenges.
Clarification: Not Leaving Bengaluru
As speculation grew, BlackBuck clarified that while it is vacating the Bellandur office, the company has no plans of leaving Bengaluru altogether.
The announcement adds to a growing list of concerns raised by startups and tech companies operating in Bengaluru, where chronic traffic congestion and poor road infrastructure continue to affect productivity and commute times.
