CBSE warns action over misleading exam posts

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a strong warning against the spread of misleading or inaccurate information regarding the ongoing board examination process. The board cautioned that individuals posting such content on social media platforms may face legal as well as disciplinary action.

The advisory comes amid reports that some people associated with the examination process have been sharing comments, personal experiences, and opinions about answer-sheet evaluation online. According to the board, several of these posts contain misleading or factually incorrect claims that could create confusion among students, parents, and schools.

Warning to Teachers and Evaluators

CBSE has particularly cautioned teachers involved in evaluating Class 10 and Class 12 answer sheets. The board said the evaluation process is strictly confidential and governed by well-defined protocols. Sharing details, opinions, or experiences related to answer-sheet checking on public platforms violates professional guidelines.

Officials emphasised that such posts could misrepresent the examination process and undermine public trust in the system. If teachers or evaluators are found sharing misleading information online, they may face disciplinary proceedings under CBSE rules.

Concern Over Rumours and Confusion

According to CBSE officials, the board noticed that certain individuals connected with the evaluation process had posted messages on social media that could spread rumours about the way answer sheets are checked.

CBSE examination controller Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that such posts have the potential to mislead stakeholders and disrupt the credibility of the examination system. The board reiterated that the evaluation procedure follows strict guidelines to ensure fairness and transparency.

Education experts say that misinformation during the examination season often creates unnecessary anxiety among students preparing for their board exams. Therefore, preventing the circulation of unverified claims is essential for maintaining trust in the examination process.

Advisory to Students and Stakeholders

CBSE has also advised students, parents, and schools to rely only on official notifications released through the board’s website and verified communication channels. Any information circulating through social media without official confirmation should not be trusted.

The board highlighted that similar rumours about question paper leaks or evaluation practices have surfaced during previous examination sessions as well. To counter this trend, CBSE has increased monitoring of online platforms and is coordinating with authorities to take action against those spreading misinformation.

Ensuring Integrity of the Examination System

The board said maintaining confidentiality and discipline during the evaluation process is essential to ensure fairness in the results. By issuing this warning, CBSE aims to protect the integrity of the board examinations and prevent panic among students and parents.

Officials reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating rules or spreading false information about the exam process. They urged all stakeholders to act responsibly and support a smooth and transparent examination process.
