Sangrur (Punjab): Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra reached Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s constituency Dhuri. She impressed everyone by speaking in Punjabi. She thanked everyone in Punjabi and also called herself the daughter-in-law of Punjab. An Eye-camp was organized by NRI Surinder Singh Nijjar in Dhuri. CM Mann’s wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana also attended the event.
When Shilpa Shetty was called on the stage, she tried to speak in Punjabi in her speech. She said- Eh kaam jo tussi kar rahe ho, changa kar rahe ho. Main iss kaam mein jud sakti hun. (The work you are doing is good work. I can join you in this work.)
The person welcoming Shilpa Shetty on the stage called her a guest. After which Shilpa Shetty interrupted him and said- I am not a guest. When I come to Punjab, I feel I have come to my in-laws’ house. Now (after marriage) I belong to Punjab.
Punjabi film actress Himanshi Khurana also reached the camp during this time. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur said that Punjabis living abroad should organize such camps. This is a good effort. She said that eye tests are being done in this camp. If someone has any problem in the eyes, cataract or any other problem, then operations will also be done for free.
