Panic gripped Chandigarh after five major schools in different sectors received bomb threat emails. According to the information received, the police and security agencies immediately swung into action after the threats were received at Ryan International School in Sector 49, St. Stephen’s School in Sector 45, Ajit Karam Singh School in Sector 41, Sampins School in Sector 32, and St. John’s School in Sector 26.

As soon as the information was received, a search operation was launched in all the schools as a precautionary measure. Bomb squad and dog squad teams reached the spot and are thoroughly checking the school premises. Keeping in mind the safety of students and staff, the school management took necessary steps, and children were given early discharge at many places.
According to police officials, security has been increased across the city after receiving the threatening emails. Additional police forces have been deployed around schools, and visitors are being kept under surveillance. Currently, there are no reports of any suspicious items being found from any school.
