The bugle for the municipal elections in Haryana has sounded. Elections for the municipal corporations of Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat will be held on May 10.
The Haryana State Election Commission made this announcement.
An expenditure limit of ₹30 lakh has been fixed for the post of Municipal Mayor. For a member, this limit is ₹7.50 lakh.
Nominations will be accepted from April 21 to April 25. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 27. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations is April 28. Election symbols will be allotted on the same day. The elections will be held on May 10.
If a re-poll becomes necessary, it will be conducted on May 12. The results will be declared on May 13.
Election Commissioner Devender Kalyan stated that the municipal corporation elections will be conducted using EVMs. VVPATs will not be used.
