CM Mann announces Flying Squad, to check quality of link roads being constructed

Chandigarh: The Punjab government has developed a new action plan to monitor the repair and upgrade work of 19,000 kilometers of link roads. To this end, flying squad teams comprising officials from the Punjab Mandi Board and the Public Works Department have been formed to oversee the entire project. Both departments have been directed to comply with the above orders.

The government order clearly states that the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad teams have been formed to inspect and monitor the roads being upgraded from 2022-23 to 2025-26. The aim is to ensure that the quality of work is not compromised.

Teams of Mandi Board Officials

The first team comprises officials from the Punjab Mandi Board. Davinder Singh, Supervising Engineer, Mandi Board, Jalandhar, has been assigned the Malwa region. He will be responsible for Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mohali, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, and Rupnagar.

The second team, led by Baldev Singh, Supervising Engineer, Punjab Mandi Board, will oversee the Majha and Doaba areas. He will cover Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar areas.

Teams of Public Works Department officials

The first team – Manpreet Singh, Supervising Engineer, Construction Circle, Patiala, will be responsible for Sangrur, Malerkotla, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Mohali, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Patiala, and Rupnagar.

The second team – Supervising Engineer, Construction Circle, Hoshiarpur, will be responsible for Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
