Jaipur, Dec 24, 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cold wave alert for parts of Rajasthan, as minimum temperatures continue to plunge across the state amid intensifying winter conditions. Forecasters warn that several districts are experiencing colder-than-normal nights, prompting advisories for residents to take precautions against harsh chill.
Meteorologists attributed the fall in temperatures to prevailing cold winds from the northwest, leading to icy nights and increasingly frigid mornings. Some regions have already recorded sub-10°C minimum temperatures, signaling the deepening of the cold wave ahead of the peak winter months.
Sharp Drop in Temperature Across the State
Several parts of Rajasthan have seen significant drops in night temperatures, with districts such as Fatehpur recording temperatures as low as around 2.2°C, followed by cold conditions in Lunkaransar, Sikar, Nagaur, and other areas that reported readings well below 10°C in recent days.
The cold wave alert covers multiple days, and the IMD has warned that night temperatures may fall further by 1–2°C over the next 48 hours, especially in the Shekhawati region and northern districts.

Residents across the state are feeling the effects of the biting cold, with many wrapping up in warm clothing and using heaters and bonfires to combat the chill during early mornings and late evenings.
