The second accused who opened fire at the office of Congress MLA from Maham Balram Dangi in Haryana’s Rohtak was arrested after an encounter, police said on Sunday. On Friday evening, the accused was shot in the leg in Maham. The accused has been taken to PGI. The accused has been identified as Aman, a resident of Kharainti village.
At the same time, in the morning, an extortion of Rs 5 crore was also demanded from Balram Dangi. In the WhatsApp message in the name of Sumit alias Chhota Samania, it was written-
Hello, prepare 5 crores. You have a week now. Right now, just a bullet has been fired on the mirrors, this time it will go straight on you.
After receiving the threat, the MLA lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, the police have started investigation. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Sumit alias Chhota Samaniya is a gangster, a resident of village Saiman. In view of the threat, the security of the MLA and his family has been increased. A total of seven commandos has been deployed for their security.

The MLA also sent a complaint to the DGP
MLA Balram Dangi said that after receiving the threatening message, a complaint has been given to DGP Ajay Singhal, ADGP CID Saurabh Singh, IG Simardeep Singh and SP Gaurav Rajpurohit. The SP assured that the police are taking action in the matter.
SP said- Accused will be arrested soon
SP Gaurav Rajpurohit said that a complaint has been given about a threatening message from the MLA. Earlier, there was a bullet at his office, in which case was registered. The security of the MLA will be increased, and the accused will be arrested soon.
On June 20, there was a firing at the MLA’s office.
On June 20, two bike-borne miscreants fired four rounds at the office of Congress MLA Balram Dangi. The next day after the incident, the police arrested one of the accused, Lakhanmajra, a resident of Aman after the encounter.
The accused had also thrown a threat slip outside the office after firing. However, there was no mention of the extortion amount. The slip only contained a death threat. During interrogation, the arrested accused Aman said that he had forgotten to write down the extortion amount. The slip only said that if the money was not paid, he would be killed.
Security of MLA’s family increased
After firing and threats, the police have increased the security of MLA Balram Dangi and his family. Earlier, there were two policemen under the protection of the MLA, but now 3 additional commandos have been given. Now 5 soldiers are deployed for the security of the MLA. The family did not have security earlier, but now two security personnel have been deployed. The MLA also met CM Nayab Saini to increase the security of his family.
Gangster leaves India in 2025
According to the police, 29-year-old gangster Sumit alias Chhota Saimania had fled Thailand from India in July 2025. He has around 30 criminal cases registered against him, including murder, extortion, firing. Even while sitting abroad, he is carrying out the crimes. His name also came up behind the 6-7 rounds of firing that took place at a closed liquor shop in Farmana village in October 2025. About a year and a half ago, he came out of Hisar jail on bail, after which he escaped abroad.
Sumit alias Chhota Saimania is the cousin of gangster Vikas alias Matari, a resident of village Saiman. Vikas alias Matari was arrested by the police in the year 2022. Apart from this, Chhota Saimania’s name also came up in the firing near the bus stand on Maham-Gohana Road on May 20 last year.
