New Delhi: Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is facing increasing trouble in the Land for Job scam. The Home Ministry has permitted the CBI to pursue a case against Lalu Yadav. The CBI has informed the Rouse Avenue Court about this development.
The CBI had requested permission to pursue a case against Lalu Yadav in this matter. On February 28, the court had granted bail to Prasad’s wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, as well as her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav.
The CBI alleged that between 2004 and 2009, numerous people were appointed to Group “D” posts in various areas of the Indian Railways. In return, they allegedly sold parcels of land to Lalu’s family members at a significant discount. Lalu was the Railway Minister in the UPA-1 government.
An official said, “During the investigation, it was found that the accused conspired with railway officials and appointed people in their or their close relatives’ names as ‘substitutes’ in exchange for the land. This land was acquired at a price lower than the current circle rate and much lower than the market rate.”
