A policeman committed suicide by hanging himself in Jalandhar, Punjab. The deceased, Ranjit Singh, was posted in the Ludhiana area. On Wednesday, when Ranjit did not come out of his room to go on duty, his family members became suspicious.
Suicide note recovered
Family members opened the door and found Ranjit hanging. A suicide note was also recovered from the scene. Police are currently investigating the matter.
Police said the post-mortem report will reveal the cause of death.
The Mehitpur police arrived at the scene and began their investigation. They recovered the suicide note from the spot.
However, the contents of the note have not yet been revealed.
Locals said that Ranjit committed suicide due to family reasons.
