Ludhiana Bribery Case: Vigilance Register FIR against SHO division number-5 Jagjit Singh Nagpal, absconding

Ludhiana: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has named SHO division number-5 Jagjit Singh Nagpal in 2.70 lakh bribery case. Vigilance bureau has registered case against inspector Jagjit Singh after the statement of arrested accused ASI Charanjit Singh.
But As soon as the inspector came to know that he could be arrested by the Vigilance Bureau, he absconded without informing the department. Senior police officers also transfer him from police station division number-5 to police line Ludhiana. Vigilance Bureau registered case against inspector Jagjit on Saturday night.

Vigilance bureau had received a complaint from Ludhiana based hotelier that the ASI Charanjit Singh police station division number-5 demanding bribe 2.70 lakh in a case on July 8. after the probe Vigilance bureau arrested ASI Charnjit Singh. During the interrogation, ASI Charnjit Singh reveal that he had demanded the bribe on the behest of the inspector Jagjit Singh Nagpal.

SSP Ravinderpal Singh said that raids are being conducted to arrest him. He found that the accused inspector was missing from duty without informing the department. Sources said that during the investigation, the Vigilance Bureau also found out that the inspector was living in a luxurious rented house whose monthly rent is lakhs of rupees. The Vigilance Bureau has also started investigating the house.
