19 Pistols Seized in Recent Police Operations; Two Suspects Evade Capture

In a significant crackdown on illegal firearms, police have confiscated a total of 19 pistols over the past four days. The most recent seizure occurred at a checkpoint near Talwandi Bhai chowk, where SSP Saumya Mishra reported the recovery of 11 .32 bore pistols and seven magazines. The weapons were seized from two unidentified suspects traveling on a motorcycle. However, the suspects managed to flee the scene, abandoning their bike. Authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the individuals responsible.

The string of successful operations also included a notable arrest by the Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) on November 12. Officers detained five individuals and confiscated two countrymade pistols, one with a .315 bore and the other with a .30 bore, along with eight rounds of ammunition. This operation underscores the CIA’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal weaponry in the region.

Earlier, on November 10, the CIA had apprehended two other suspects, recovering six pistols and 13 rounds of ammunition. These developments highlight a growing concern over illegal firearms and their potential impact on community safety.

Authorities are urging the public to assist in the identification of the fleeing suspects, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in ensuring a safer environment. The police are committed to intensifying their efforts to curb the illegal arms trade and maintain public safety in the area. As the investigation continues, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
