Jalandhar: Advocate Parminder Singh Dhingra was found dead from a gunshot wound at his residence in the Basti Danish Manda area of Jalandhar on Tuesday, triggering panic in the locality. Upon receiving the information, local police rushed to the scene and sealed the entire house. As of now, Dhingra’s body remains inside the residence and has not yet been removed.

After the incident, an atmosphere of tension has prevailed in the area.

In fact, Parminder Singh Dhingra was also the head of the All India Sikh Student Federation. After the incident, Sikh organizations also reached there and started protesting demanding justice for the deceased.

The protesting groups have termed this death suspicious and accused the police of inaction and demanded that the incident be thoroughly investigated and if it is murder, the culprits should be arrested immediately. It was also alleged that the police arrived two and a half hours after the incident and the investigation is not being done transparently.

He returned home after meeting his neighbor

Locals said that Parminder Singh had met his neighbours before the incident. After he went home, a gunshot was heard. When no one came out for a long time, the police was informed. After which the police arrived and an investigation was started.

Celebrated birthday a few days ago

While talking to the media, AISSF officials informed that the deceased Parminder Singh Dhingra had celebrated his birthday a few days ago. He had gone to the Golden Temple on his birthday. Some are linking it to suicide, but he cannot take such a step.

Forensic teams also reached for investigation

Police officials say that the case is being investigated on a priority basis. A forensic team has been called which is collecting evidence from the scene. However, it is not yet clear whether it is a suicide or a murder committed under a conspiracy.

The police have also started questioning the family and neighbors of the deceased. At the same time, Sikh organizations have warned that if justice is not given soon, the agitation will be intensified. The administration is currently monitoring the situation and an appeal has been made to maintain peace.
