Mass shooting at Maplewood Park in Rochester City, New York, 1 dead, 6 injured

New York (US):  One dead and six injured in a mass shooting occurred at Maplewood Park in Rochester, New York. Maplewood Park in Rochester City hundreds had gathered for an event. Numerous people, including possibly children, were shot when dozens of shots were fired, causing panic. Law enforcement and emergency crews are on the scene, with the area secured and under investigation. Early reports indicate at least six people were shot, with one confirmed fatality.

As per Rochester Police Department Captain Greg Bello, the police arrived at Maplewood Park at 6:20 pm, when it received reports of fired shots during a huge gathering. they discovered that multiple individuals suffered from gunshot wounds and a large crowd was seen escaping the area. Police said some people were taken to the hospital by private vehicle throughout the night and others by ambulance.

Rochester Police informed that one who died was 20 years old, another is in life-threatening condition while five others have been hospitalized with minor injuries. “At this point, we don’t know how many people were shooting. We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can,” said Greg Bello as quoted by local media. The identity of the victim, who was shot, has not been released yet. Several police agencies responded to the park including the Irondequoit Police, Monroe County Sheriffs, Rochester Police and New York State Police.
