Moga: Moga police has registered a rape case against the head sevadar of Dera Charan Ghat in Jagraon, Ludhiana. On May 6, Balwinder Singh, the head of Dera Charan Ghat, brought a 25-year-old girl to a hotel in Moga and raped her.
Apart from this, four and a half months ago, the head sevadar of the Dera, Balwinder Singh, raped her. He made a video in a hotel in Moga and started blackmailing her. He called the girl to the Dera and kept raping her twice a week. The girl complained to the police, after which a case was registered against the head of the Dera, Balwinder Singh.
On September 2, a woman registered a rape case in Jagraon police station, after which the police arrested the head sevadar Balwinder Singh and sent him to Goindwal Sahib jail. Today, Moga police brought the accused Balwinder Singh from Goindwal Sahib jail on a protection warrant and presented him in the court. The police have taken two days’ remand for interrogation.
Inspector Arshpreet Kaur said that after recording the statement of the victim on Wednesday, a case has been registered against the accused Balwinder Singh on Thursday on charges of rape and threatening. The accused Balwinder Singh was brought from Goindwal Sahib jail on a protection warrant and presented in the court of Moga and taken on remand for 2 days.
