Ludhiana: Punjab Ludhiana woman stabbed to death by her husband in Canada. after her mother. The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Kaur (41), a resident of Malla village of Jagraon District Ludhiana. According to family members, husband of Balwinder kaur Pakhowal Road, (Ludhiana) resident Jagpreet Singh alias Raju had reached Abbotsford, B.C. Canada just 5 days ago to meet his daughter.

Balwinder Kaur’s husband Jagpreet Singh was charged with second-degree murder in relation to the fatal stabbing. Singh, 50, was arrested on the scene. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said in statement that the Abbotsford Police Department were called to a home at the 3400 block of Wagner Drive around 10:50 p.m. PT on Friday. Responding to calls of an assault in progress, they found 41-year-old Balwinder Kaur suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. She later died in hospital, according to IHIT

Balwinder Kaur in-laws were also harassing

Deceased father Himmat Singh told that his daughter Balwinder Kaur was married to Jagpreet Singh alias Raju, resident of Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana in the year 2000. After marriage, her in-laws were harassing her for dowry.
Balwinder Kaur had sent her daughter Harnoorpreet Kaur to study in Canada after getting IELTS done in the year 2020. In January 2022, Balwinder went to Canada to meet her daughter. Meanwhile, son-in-law Jagpreet Singh repeatedly called Balwinder and started insisting on calling him to Canada soon. Due to her insistence, Harnoorpreet called her father Jagpreet Singh to Canada on 11 March 2024.

Himmat told that Jagpreet also made a video of incident and sent it to his mother in Ludhiana. When her son Gurnoor Singh saw this video, he informed the family about his mother’s murder. Himmat told that Jagpreet has been arrested by the Canadian Police.
