Amritsar: Punjab Amritsar an 8 year old girl was raped by a minor boy studying in her school. The incident happened on Friday. Today when the family started sending the girl to school, she refused to go. When pressed, the girl narrated the torture that happened to her in the school washroom.
The victim’s mother and father told that their daughter is 8 years old and studies in a public school located at Majitha Road Bypass. The incident occurred on Friday. The girl had gone from classroom to the washroom. The minor accused studying in the school itself was present there. As soon as the girl came out of the washroom, the accused pulled her and took her back to the washroom.
The victim told her family members that the accused raped her in the washroom and also threatened her to keep her mouth shut. The family told that the girl was not getting ready to come to school today. Asked her to go to school, but she did not agree. When she was asked forcefully, she started crying.
After this the victim told the entire story of her rape to the family. The family informed the police. The police also took immediate action and took the accused minor youth into custody.
Angry People vandalized shops
As soon as the information about the rape of an 8 year old girl was received, the victim’s family members and nearby people reached the school. The police assured them of appropriate action. But the angry mob first tried to enter the school, when the police stopped them, they started vandalizing the shops and vendors around the bypass drain.
ACP North Varinder Khosa said that information about rape of an 8 year old girl was received in the morning itself. After which the team reached the school. The girl is being taken for medical treatment. The youth who raped is also a minor, due to which action will be taken against him under juvenile sections.
