Jalandhar: Jalandhar Police has solved the murder mystery of Chowkidar Raju Bengali. Police arrest the accused supervisor Sagar after raid. Police had recovered the dead body of Chowkidar Raju alias Bengali two days ago from near the power cabin Lakkar Pul. Accused Sagar was the supervisor of the deceased Chowkidar Raju alias Bengali.
There was a quarrel between the Sagar and begali over some issue in which Sagar got angry and attacked Bengali with a stick. Bengali died on the spot in this attack. Sagar was missing since the incident and his phone was also switched off. Police raided Sagar’s house in Haryana.
It was found that Sagar had gone to a relative’s house but his phone was switched off which turned the police’s suspicion into certainty. Accused Sagar surrendered after being frightened by the police raid. Accused Sagar told the police that on the day of the murder, deceased Raju was drunk and in an intoxicated state he started abusing after which both of them had a fight and Raju lost his life.
GRP police station SHO Palvinder Singh Bhinder said Raju Burman alias Bengali, originally from West Bengal and worked as a watchman at the store of Bala Sundari Construction Company of Haryana near the Lakkar Pul.
The accused of murder, Sagar son of Ramesh Kumar, is a resident of village Khojgipur, district Panipat (Haryana) and was posted as a supervisor in Bala Sundari Company. On the day of the murder, the deceased Raju Bengali had received his salary, on which supervisor Sagar and Raju together bought a fan, mobile and other items from the market. During this time, Raju also bought liquor from the market and at night Raju started drinking. Sagar said that Raju started talking about bringing more liquor from the market, but he refused.
Raju was extremely drunk and he fell down several times due to which he got injured. Meanwhile, Raju started abusing Sagar and the fight between the two increased. Supervisor Sagar hit Raju with a wooden stick, due to which he fell down and started bleeding. Sagar panicked after seeing Raju in this condition and fled from the spot.
