Shocking: Mother Sells 15-Year-Old Daughter for Rs 3 Lakh in Rajasthan

In a shocking incident from Chhanna Nathuwalia village in Nabha block, a heart-wrenching case has come to light where a mother, driven by greed for ₹3 lakh, sold her 15-year-old minor daughter in Rajasthan. A video of the incident has surfaced, showing the mother counting ₹500 notes. After the sale, the girl was also forcibly married to a man in Rajasthan, with photos from the ceremony now public.

This entire legal action was initiated based on the statement of the girl’s grandmother. On the other hand, Nabha DSP Mandeep Kaur stated that the minor girl has been rescued from Rajasthan, and a case has been registered against four individuals. The girl’s mother, Kiranjeet Kaur, and grandmother, Gurmeet Kaur, have been arrested and sent behind bars.

As per Charanjit Kaur, the grandmother of the minor girl, said that she had raised the child since infancy after the mother abandoned her. She recently returned only to sell her daughter for ₹3 lakh. The deal was allegedly made in Khanna city. Although the mother and grandmother are now in jail, she demanded that the mastermind behind the human trafficking racket should also be brought to justice.

DSP Mandeep Kaur Cheema confirmed that based on a written complaint by the grandmother, a detailed investigation was conducted. It was discovered that the mother and grandmother had sold the girl in Rajasthan and received money for the transaction. The minor was also married off there. A video has surfaced showing the mother accepting and counting the cash. The police rescued the girl from Rajasthan and handed her over to her maternal uncles.

A case has been filed against four people, including the mother Kiranjeet Kaur, grandmother Gurmeet Kaur, and two others who are currently absconding. The case has been registered under sections 143(1), 61(2), 9, 10, and 11 of the Child Marriage Act based on the grandmother’s statement.
