Ludhiana:
The team of CIA-2 of Ludhiana police nabbed two persons involved in selling luxury cars by installing fake number plates on them. The police recovered a total of five cars from their possession.
The recovered vehicles include one Jimny, one BMW, Mercedes, Innova and Creta.
The police have also recovered fake number plates and documents. Moreover, a fake Police ID card of Assistant Inspector rank was also recovered from the possession of one of the accused.
The accused have been identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh of Rajguru Nagar and Amarjit Singh alias Amar of Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar. Arshdeep is into the sale-purchase of cars while Amarjit is a car mechanic.
The police have also booked their aide identified as Amanpreet Singh alias Sunny of Chawanni Mohalla. He is yet to be arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP – Investigation) Shubham Aggarwal said that the accused used to purchase cars from other states and without getting NOCs used to bring vehicles here and then by installing fake number plates and getting fake documents ready, they used to sell it further to residents.
Inspector Rajesh Sharma, in-charge CIA 2 said that the police have recovered fake Police ID card from the possession of Arshdeep and the two arrested accused have been into this for past around five to six months while the third accused, Amanpreet alias Sunny, who is absconding, is into this crime for long time and he is also facing two FIRs earlier also.
The police are further probing the case and a manhunt has been launched to arrest the third accused.
