Gurugram: Shopkeepers in the Nathupur area of Gurugram brutally beat a customer over a minor issue. The young man’s only mistake was parking his e-rickshaw outside the shop and going inside to buy something. Angered by this, the shopkeepers attacked him with iron rods and sticks.
Victim suffered serious injuries, forced to settle a matter
Victim Roshanlal, a resident of Madhubani, Bihar, who lives on rent in Nathupur, said he received eight stitches on his head. He alleges that the accused forced him to sign a settlement while he was semi-conscious, to prevent legal action.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage
CCTV video of the incident has surfaced, showing shopkeepers beating the young man with sticks. According to the footage, as soon as the young man parked his e-rickshaw outside the shop and went inside, the shopkeepers surrounded him and attacked him without warning.
Demand for police action intensifies
The victim has filed a complaint with the police, but has alleged that no concrete action has been taken against the accused so far. He says that despite the CCTV footage being clear evidence, the police are being negligent.
Locals are outraged
Nearby residents say that such incidents are increasing in the Nathupur area, where disputes over small matters escalate into violence. After the video surfaced, people are angry and have demanded strict action from the police. Police say that an investigation is underway based on the complaint and footage, and appropriate action will be taken soon.
