Jalandhar: Several residential areas in Jalandhar city will experience power outages today. According to information provided by the Electricity Department, this power cut is being imposed to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work on the 11 KV Dakoha feeder. This shutdown will last for a total of four hours, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
During this period, electricity supply will be completely disrupted in prominent areas such as Kamal Vihar, Thakur Singh Colony, Shaurya Green, and Niti Shree Flats. The department has appealed to consumers to make necessary arrangements in advance.
Residential Areas to be Affected
Due to this four-hour-long power cut, electricity supply will be unavailable in several major and VIP residential areas of the city. According to the list released by the department, areas including Kamal Vihar, Thakur Singh Colony, Shaurya Green, and Niti Shree Flats will experience power outages.
Electricity Department Issues Appeal to Consumers
With the onset of the summer season and the intense heat experienced during the afternoon hours, the Electricity Department has sought the cooperation of the public. Department officials have made a special appeal to consumers to keep this scheduled timeframe (10:00 AM to 2:00 PM) in mind and complete their water storage and other essential household chores beforehand, to avoid facing any major inconvenience.
Supply to be Restored After Maintenance
Reassuring local residents, the Electricity Department has also clarified that electricity supply will be immediately restored to normalcy as soon as the maintenance work on the lines and feeder is completed on schedule. The department aims to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe to ensure that residents do not have to remain without electricity for an extended period.
