Have you ever wondered how the words you speak can influence your thoughts, emotions, behavior, relationships and even the way you see yourself? Let’s Dig Deeper Words are not merely sound we produce; they can shape what we think, what we feel, how we see ourselves and how we treat others. One sentence can encourage a Broken person. One Harsh sentence can stay in someone’s mind for years. A teacher saying “you can do it “may change a student confidence. A parent repeatedly saying “you are useless “may influence a child’s self-image. The Bible talks a lot about tongue. The tongue is a small organ of the body. The length of the tongue is 8-10cm (3-4 inches) and weight roughly 50-70 Grams, although tongue is a small organ, yet the words it produces can have an enormous impact on the human mind, emotions, relationships and even the direction of a person’s life. Why Tongue is so powerful? Bible says God created us on his own image Genesis 1.27 that clearly declare that man has power like God. In the beginning God created everything by speaking the words. From the beginning, scripture revels the creative power of spoken words. God spoke “Let there be light” and there was light. His spoken word brought light into darkness. Human beings have the same ability to speak, influence, communicate and create change through words. The Bible verse closet to my heart is Proverbs18.21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” This verse changed my whole life style, understanding this verse can produce great miracle in your life too. From a biblical perspective, our words are not insignificant, they can build, encourage, correct and comfort – or they can wound and destroy. Interestingly, psychology also helps us understand why words can have such a powerful impact. what we repeatedly hear and what we repeatedly tell ourselves can influence our thoughts, emotions, beliefs and behavior. In this sense, the tongue and the mind are deeply connected. words can influence the mind of the person who hears them. Let’s see scientifically, When another person speak to us or we speak to ourselves (self-talk.) sound waves enter the ear and are converted into neural signals (Transduction). The brain processes the sound as language and meaning. Words we hear —– Brain processes them—— Meaning—-Emotions/ thoughts —-physiological and Behavioral response. Let’s understand with flow chart Words, Thoughts, Feelings, Behavior, Habits Our words carry meaning and our mind respond to that meaning. when we repeatedly hear something (good or bad) or repeatedly say something (positive or negative) to ourselves, it can influence the way we think, feel and behave. Words may enter through the ears (sense organ) but they can travel much deeper – into our thoughts, emotions, beliefs and eventually our behavior. therefore, with bad mouth and words you cannot see success and victory in your life. Your words shape your destiny. you can change your life by changing the way you speaking to yourselves and others. Many people around the world are suffering just because of their bad mouth and wrong confessions. the Bible reminders us in proverbs 6:2 you are snared by the words of your mouth, you are caught by the words of your mouth. God is not responsible for your situation, He is not in the bad picture .Do not blame God if you are suffering instead watch your mouth what you are speaking .The bible says in Hosea 4:6 My people are destroying due to lack of my knowledge .The meaning is deeper than simply “ Not knowing facts “ which leads to destructive choices and consequences .when knowledge is absent ,deception finds room to grow , But when truth ( The Word) enters the mind it can transform the way we think , Speak and live .Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light , is giveth understanding unto the simple. Dear reader its time to watch over your mouth what kind of words you are speaking to yourself and others are very important to notice. Use words of wisdom, understanding, Growth, prosperity, victory, joy, peace, health, healing, abundance and never forget that your words shaping your destiny. Words are seeds you sowing in your mind – whatever you sow, you will reap, it’s a principle set by the God almighty, the words we sow today may become the thoughts, emotions, and actions we reap tomorrow. Let’s our words become instruments of Healing rather than weapon of harm. Blessings Sandhya masih
