New Delhi: A violent dispute over joint property in JJ Colony turned deadly on Wednesday after a 53-year-old man lost his life while his nephew sustained serious injuries during a family clash in the Shakurpur area.
According to Delhi Police, the incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Subhash Place police station. Police said the accused, identified as Rajesh, allegedly stabbed his 34-year-old nephew Deepak in the stomach during a heated argument related to a shared property dispute.
Accused Dies After Falling from Stairs During Scuffle
During the scuffle that followed, Rajesh reportedly fell from the stairs and suffered critical injuries. Police officials stated that he was found unconscious at the spot and was rushed to Bhagwan Mahabir Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile, Deepak, who sustained stab injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
Delhi Police Also Arrest Attempt-to-Murder Accused in Najafgarh
In a separate development, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested a wanted criminal identified as Gaurav alias Love Sharma alias Sandeep alias Masalewala in connection with an attempt-to-murder case in the Najafgarh area.
According to police, the accused was absconding after allegedly opening fire during a clash between two groups in Roshan Garden on April 23, injuring a youth in the leg. A case under attempt to murder and Arms Act provisions had been registered at Najafgarh police station.
Police said the accused, who is reportedly involved in 11 criminal cases including murder, robbery and snatching, was arrested near Deen Dayal Hospital after a brief chase based on a tip-off received by the Crime Branch team.
