Panchkula: After several days, dense fog once again enveloped several districts in Haryana, including Sonipat and Panipat, on Friday. Due to the fog, visibility in Sonipat city was zero at 7 am, and the situation was also dire in rural areas. Similar conditions prevailed in Panipat and several other districts.
Delhi–Jammu Highway Affected, Traffic Crawls
The Delhi-Jammu Highway was so densely foggy that vehicles had difficulty moving. Visibility was extremely low, raising the risk of accidents. This is why vehicles were limited to driving at a speed of 20-30 kilometers per hour.
IMD Issues Orange Alert for Cold Wave
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted a cold wave in the state from December 26th to 30th. During this period, the state will experience dry cold. An orange alert has been issued for the entire state regarding the cold.

Fog had enveloped many parts of the state for the past three to four days, but now, due to the cold wave, the weather has cleared. Along with this, the dry cold is beginning to intensify in the state. The cold is expected to intensify further in the coming days.

Although the Meteorological Department has predicted fog in some districts of northern Haryana, the state will experience sunny skies during the day, bringing relief from the cold.
Orange alert till December 28 The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Haryana from December 26-28. However, the weather in Haryana NCR and Delhi will remain generally dry in December. Cold northerly winds have caused a drop in night temperatures in most areas of Haryana NCR and Delhi. Night temperatures across the region remain below normal.
Kaithal recorded the lowest maximum temperature
On Thursday, Christmas Day, all districts across the state experienced sunny skies. As a result, most districts recorded maximum temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius on November 25th. Palwal recorded the highest maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, while Kaithal recorded the lowest at 15.4 degrees Celsius.
